Our Favorite Disney World Attractions

These Are the Rides That Keep Us Coming Back Trip After Trip!

While roller coasters and nighttime shows get a lot of the buzz, some of our all-time favorite Walt Disney World experiences are found in the regular ol’ “rides.” The attractions that make us smile, make us laugh, and sometimes even get us a little teary-eyed.

We’re talking immersive storytelling, emotional connections, family-wide joy—the kind of Disney magic that doesn’t always need speed to make it memorable.

Here are our top 5 attractions we never skip. (And yes, we had some passionate family debates on this one!)

#5 – Carousel of Progress (Magic Kingdom)

This rotating theater attraction is a walk through 20th-century history and Disney heritage. Walt personally oversaw its creation for the 1964 World’s Fair, and the nostalgia is strong… but not without controversy in our house.

We have to mention That Beer Guy’s ongoing protest. Why? Because the show claims the Wright Brothers were from North Carolina. And as a proud Ohio native, he’s quick to point out they were actually from Dayton, Ohio—North Carolina was just the launchpad. He’s not wrong!

Despite the historical hiccup, we still love the music, the message, and that final holiday scene. It’s a true Walt original.

#4 – Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway (Hollywood Studios)

Bright, colorful, and wonderfully chaotic, this attraction pulls you into a cartoon world where anything can happen—and usually does. It’s silly, smooth, and full of hidden surprises that we catch more of with every ride. Plus, the soundtrack is super catchy (“Nothing Can Stop Us Now” might live rent-free in our heads forever).

#3 – Frozen Ever After (EPCOT)

A beautifully reimagined boat ride with music, effects, and magic moments. Even if you’re not a Frozen superfan, the animatronics are impressive, the backward drop is fun, and the kids (and grandparents) all light up when “Let It Go” swells in the ice palace. We love seeing the girls sing along every time.

#2 – Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover (Magic Kingdom)

This is the heart of That Disney Family right here. The PeopleMover isn’t flashy, but it’s packed with nostalgia. From the retro narration to the peek inside Space Mountain, we love this peaceful, breezy tour of Tomorrowland.

It’s also one of the last attractions that reflects Walt Disney’s original vision for the future. There’s something comforting and magical about gliding above the crowds, sharing quiet conversations, and feeling like you’re in on one of Magic Kingdom’s best-kept secrets.

#1 – Avatar Flight of Passage (Animal Kingdom)

Every time we ride this, we’re blown away. Flight of Passage is the most breathtaking, immersive attraction Disney has ever created. From the moment you “link” with your banshee to the moment you soar through Pandora, it feels real—and emotional.

Even after dozens of rides, we still gasp at the sights, smile during the swoops, and maybe get a little misty at the end. It’s not just a ride. It’s a memory in motion. That’s why it tops our list.
